I hired Pat as GC on our second floor addition in Chicago. The home was a 1929 Chicago bungalow and we were adding 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs and updating plumbing, electric, flooring, etc on the first floor. Needless to say, it was a big job. We spoke with a few contractors before going with Pat, and many would not take on the job because we wanted to maintain the recently renovated kitchen while tearing off the roof and building up. We were told the job was too risky and they would only consider a gut rehab.
Pat took the job without hesitation and had the work and budget lined up before we had permits approved. Since Pat lived down the street from our new home he was regularly there after hours, in the mornings, etc. One example comes to mind when the project began and the roof was removed from the home and it would rain, Pat would come by in the middle of the night to ensure the house stayed water tight. He took the job personal and made sure it was done the right way. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Pat to my friends and family on any job that required an experienced GC/Builder.
Transportation & Logistics Practice
My partner and I bought one of Patrick’s homes almost 5 years ago after a long search for the level of craftsmanship we have come to expect but rarely find anymore. We have owned no less than a 1/2 dozen homes in chicago over the last 27 years together. Never in our years have we owned a home like this one.
There are three specific reasons this home stands out as superior to all others:
1. Material building craftsmanship. Our home inspector who we have known for 25 years said this house was a top 2 home he has ever inspected at any price point. We had him not only do a traditional inspection but also had him do a full thermal inspection and he did it twice because he thought his equipment was faulty. He said the home was built as solid as it gets.
2. Design and detail. The house sits on a lot and a half and Patrick took great advantage in his design of a city home that lives suburban. He balanced the home square footage with the appropriate yarding. Finally he made the rooms you live in perfectly sized for good living and spared no cost on superior quality finishes. Details like 2” thick solid wood doors and amazing solid handles in every room. Top of the line stone finishes and carpentry.
3. Patrick’s home guarantee. It went beyond and punch list. Honestly we had so little we had to have adjusted but when we asked him to help he often did things himself or had one of his guys here in hours not days. So his word is his guarantee which no one does these days.
Love this house. And have had countless family and friends, many who renovate themselves, comment on the house and quality.
So in closing, I’d be honored to have Patrick build another home for us or anyone we know for that matter. After all the homes we’ve owned, this one will truly be difficult to pass along to the next owner some day as all good homes should be. This home is a keeper. So maybe we will stay here a while!
The best testimonial one can write for a contractor or developer is to buy a house from him and then offer to partner with him on a spec home.

We have absolutely loved the house we bought from Patrick. The design of the house was incredibly thought-out. Rooms are well-spaced and the house has a wonderful flow and feel. We especially appreciate the front room office, which has become particularly important during our extended work-from-home schedules. Patrick also made sure to include very high-end fixtures and appliances.
The workmanship has also proven to be top-notch. After living here for well over a year with my wife, along with our kids and dog, the house still looks and feels brand new. It is very clear that Patrick spared no expense in building a house that not only looks great, but that will continue to perform for many, many years to come.
Finally, Patrick has been an amazing resource for us since we moved in. While nothing major has occurred, we have had many minor issues that Patrick has helped us deal with. If a door needed adjusting, Patrick came by to fix it. If we couldn’t locate a cable wire, Patrick was here to help. Even recently – more than a year after we moved in – Patrick walked us through how to start one of the electric fireplaces. I know that many builders would consider their work to be complete once their house was sold. That’s not how Patrick operates. We have been incredibly grateful that Patrick has never left us in the lurch, and has continually helped us maximize the enjoyment of the house that he built with such care and dedication.

Just a couple of years ago my wife and I decided to build a custom home. This decision came with much trepidation but Patrick immediately put our minds at ease and ended up building us our dreamhouse.
Below I’ve listed a few points highlighting our experience working with Patrick:
Quality / Craftsmanship – Patrick showed attention to detail and had high quality subcontractors. The wood floors and stone finishes certainly “stand out” but all of the trades were managed well and of excellent quality.
Communication – There are many decisions to be made when building a custom home. Patrick had excellent suggestions and also worked hard to understand and act according to our wishes. We met on a regular basis to talk about next steps which gave us plenty of time to make critical decisions. Patrick’s knowledge and communication made the process relatively seamless.
Budget / Timing – Patrick was budget conscious and had many creative suggestions to minimize costs without compromising quality. Early in the project, we encountered an issue during demolition and Patrick quickly brought in his crew and resolved the issue. At the end day, Patrick delivered a beautiful home, on time and within budget.
Two years later Patrick and I still communicate and he is happy to answer any questions. Needless to say, it was a great experience working with Patrick!
